Carl House

I can not say enough good things about my experience with Carl House. My daughters have several friends who got married around the same time and Carl House is rated #1 by all of us. Every one of my guest have frequently commented that my wedding was one of the best they have ever attended and many (myself included ) said it was the best wedding they ever attended. Thanks in a big part to everyone @ Carl House. I have already referred many potential couples, one has already decided she will use them for her wedding.

Carl House has a very friendly and helpful stuff. The only real "problem" we ran into was their lack of flexibility as far as meetings and scheduling. I know they host a lot of events, which makes it hard to accommodate everyone; I think more communication about the other events happening around the date of your wedding will help you plan better.

I could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding. The venue, staff, food and price was great!

Carl House was hands down the best choice for our ceremony. The facility is absolutely gorgeous. The landscape beautiful for our outside ceremony. All of the staff at Carl House were very friendly and professional. We were truely treated like royality on our special day. We are still hearing from our friends and family about how they felt like they were in a fairy tale because the whole place is just so classy and the food was fabulous. Thank you so much Carl House for making our day truely special. It was worth every penny and more.

My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding! The staff is so personable, caring, and accommodating! Monika, their sales person is a former Carl House bride, which showed me she must of loved her wedding to be working their now. The owner BB even came and sat in on our first appointment which really impressed me because it shows she really gets involved with the brides. The house speaks for itself, beautiful inside and outside ceremony site, which really sold me because I think you have to love the inside as much as the outside incase it rains. Go check it out, I fell in love!

I highly recommend Carl House to anyone looking for a wedding venue. Carl House was exactly the place I was looking for to have my outdoor wedding. The grounds of the facility are gorgeous with beautiful gardens and antebellum style architecture. It had rained earlier on my wedding day, but everything still turned out better than I had even expected for the wedding ceremony.The staff at Carl House was extremely friendly and helpful when planning my wedding, and they really helped to make it a lot stressful for me. Denise took care of all of the ceremony details and schedule for the night according to what we wanted. The owner, Ms. BB Webb, also saw to it that all of our needs were met from the months before the wedding up until the moment we pulled away.The food provided with our wedding package was also outstanding! All of the guests seemed to be pleased with their meals, and the private dinner with my husband was a nice touch. The Carl House was the perfect place for our October 24, 2009 wedding. Not only was the venue beautiful and was perfect for what we wanted, the people who work there helped to make it a great day as well. Everything went smoothly on our wedding. The staff at the Carl House was very helpful each step of the way and was extremely great on our wedding day. The food was amazing as well! In all, we were very pleased with the Carl House and would recommend it to all of our family and friends.

It rained on our wedding day :( BUT it worked out perfectly! The Carl House is absolutely beautiful on the inside (with its double staircase and wonderful details). Denise, our wedding director, was so helpful. The Carl House staff didnt miss a beat the whole day. Everything was so well planned and timed to perfection. Guests weren't leaving early or looking bored at any moment!! It was beautiful, rainy, and perfect!

The Carl House staff were amazing! They made my dream wedding come true! The entire staff from the day we first looked at the Carl House up to the night of the wedding were extraordinary! Although Carl House was a little expensive, it was totally worth it. I highly recommend Carl House. The entire house and grounds are so beautiful.

Carl House is absolutely stunning. The garden is breathtaking in person and the ballroom is elegant and welcoming. The food was extremely tasty, and guests went on and on all night about how beautiful everything was. It is a bit pricey, but the rates are competitive with other venues like Primrose Cottage, Flint Hill and Park Tavern. And, to be completely honest, I think Carl House is way more impressive and beautiful than any other venue I've seen in Georgia. Both Faye and Denise are extremely nice, and everyone on the Carl House staff was extremely accommodating. I highly recommend them!

We had such a wonderful day... the surroundings were beautiful, the food was excellent, and the staff was so helpful. My husband and I were just able to enjoy the day and seeing all our friends and family. Well worth it!

The staff at the Carl House were extremely informative, helpful and courteous. being that my husband and I had never been married or experienced the planning of a wedding before, Denise--our wedding planner that works with the Carl House---was very helpful with helping us make decisions and suggestions. There were plenty of things involved in the wedding that neither of us had thought of or even considered and Denise, along with Faye and the rest of the Carl House staff, were right there to help with every last detail and question. Now, my husband and I had started our search for a venue elsewhere and were not satisfied with the sizes of the venues or the prices. We were not planning on a large wedding but we still wanted our guests to be comfortable and have room to dance and mingle. Once we pulled into the Carl House drive, we knew we didn't have to search anymore. At that point, money was no longer our main concern. We NEEDED to get married here. The garden and entire landscape was gorgeous and when we walked inside, it just felt so romantic. We spoke to Faye about dates and times and all of those fun things involved with beginning a wedding. She went over every possible angle with customizing the menus to our liking and also letting us know that they were pretty much willing to allow us to do anything we wanted when it came to decorating. That was a big concern of mine, all of the OTHER venues that we had looked at said that we were not allowed to throw rose petals (if we did then we would have to have one of our guests or the flower girls go pick them up afterwards!) we also weren't allowed to place any decor on the grass or garden areas at other venues. We were also very limited to what or how much lights, bows and other decor that we wanted to use. With the Carl House, we were allowed to place shepards hooks along the pathway (in the grass!) and we were allowed to tie pew bows to chairs and stairways. They were very accommodating. Denise, our wedding planner, met with us about 3 months before our actual wedding day and set up a time line for our special day, along with finalizing every little detail. We ended up renting out a trellis from the Carl House along with table centerpieces. They offer much much more to rent for the day too.The entire place is so gorgeous that most of the original decorating that my husband and I had planned on was forgotten once we decided on the Carl House. It is beautifully decorated with small trees and lighted ivy on the interior that we saved some money by sticking with the original decor of the Carl House.And if it didn't already sound good...the food!!! Oh my gosh! The food was amazing. They have their own cooks and cater to all of their own venues and it's great! I only wish that we could have sent home goody bags with everyone.

The Carl House was an amazing place for our wedding. Faye was so nice to work with. Denise was so calm on the big day and she really was everything a wedding coordinator was supposed to be. The food...ohhh the food. It was so good. I am still getting compliments about how good the food was at my wedding 1 month later. The apple chutney tartlets were my favorite but we had tons of compliments about the fried green tomatoes. Beautiful, Professional, Perfect!

Having my wedding at the Carl House was so romantic. The scenary is breathtaking. Your guests will love it!

We booked the Carl House the day we saw it, and we never regretted it for a minute! It allowed us to hold the ceremony and the reception in a single location to cut down on travel time, the house itself is beautiful, the catering is out of this world, and BB Web and our wedding coordinator, Denise, were all fantastic to work with. Not all of the vendors that we worked with were on their preferred vendors list, but they coordinated and communicated with ease and brought the whole event off seamlessly. And when picking your catering menu, I recommend the brunch. It was one of the best meals I've ever had on one of the best days I've ever had.

We had our reception at Carl House and the wedding ceremony at our church. I loved our reception but there are definately some downfalls. Deborah, who is the sales manager, is not the best "sales" manager. Every single time I talked to her about our reception, I felt that she wasn't truly listening. We had a seated dinner and she constantly would say buffet like she didn't actually know we were having a seated dinner. She never truly listened of paid attention before and during meetings.They overcharge you on everything. My father had to speak to Deborah multiple times about how we were being charged for things we shouldnt have been - so pay close attention to the detail contract.Denise, the wedding coordinator, is very polite and professional. However, everything is on such a tight schedule there that we couldn't even finish taking pictures outside so I missed out on so many different pictures that we wanted. We were constantly being pulled in different directions.When we had to leave for the evening, we had a limo waiting for us out front. Deborah had us leave right on the dot when they wanted us out that my husband didnt even have time to gather his clothes to take to our hotel for the night. We had to go through the trouble of calling a family member to come to our hotel to meet us - what a way to spend a wedding night!

Overall I was really happy with the Carl House. I looked everywhere to try to find a nice location for the wedding and as soon as my fiance and I saw Carl House we immediately cancelled our other appointments and booked. The house itself is a historic home with a ballroom addition that is beyond any description of beautiful. The decorators pay attention to every detail from high pressed tin ceilings to cloth wallpaper with upholstery buttons. The location for the wedding could not have been more beautiful. One of the really important issues to me was that we would be the only group there. Carl House only rents to one party at a time and literally allows your guests to make use of the entire property-House and gardens. The only problems we had were with communication. I know they were going through staffing changes but for some reason it was next to impossible to get in touch with them. This was a little dissappointing because we had to start the ceremony later in the evening than we would've preferred due to another wedding and couldn't have an outdoor ceremony in their beautiful garden. It turned out the other wedding was moved and we weren't told until it came up in rehearsal discussions right after the invitations were ordered. They did provide a great "Winter Wedding" package for us that really helped with the cost and they have a fantastic catering department. Also, their preferred vendors list is well worth booking with them. The vendors are fantastic and are already familiar with the quality of work desired.

Our wedding at the Carl House was amazing! Faye was just a pleasure to work with. Denise did a great job directing everything. The grounds are too beautiful to even describe. I only could of asked for a couple of things to change. One is that it cost us $300 extra to get an extra hour before the ceremony started. I believe this is way over priced especially considering they didn't have an event the morning before. I asked Denise in one of our planning meetings when a tasting could happen, I was given a date. This date was the night before our final meeting where we had to make decisions on food. I was not happy but we were willing to do this to make sure we picked the correct food. Come to find out this tasting was canceled and they weren't having another before my wedding. This really upset me because no one from the day we signed a contract told me of a tasting, I had to find out on my own and then 2 1/2 months before find out it's canceled and another one wouldn't be healed before my wedding. If we would have been able to attend a tasting we could have realized we didn't like the appetizer with the smoked salmon! Yuck! Another thing is my mother had to ask someone if they could bring my husband and I appetizers before our meal came. We put so much time into planning everything the least we could have is some of the delicious crab cakes! The food was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend the pecan crusted chicken. To this day I crave this chicken! The only other problem I had with the night is that when it was time for us to leave no one had set out the basket of bubbles my mom and I had prepared. My mom found them hidden under a table and had to rush and bring them out for everyone to get. I feel these should have been out since the beginning and definitely my mom shouldn't have been the one set these out! I truly did enjoy our wedding at the Carl House. I realize some of the issues I have could certainly come with any place and at the end of the day our wedding went off without a hitch and the Carl House truly covered everything. If you select the Carl House for your wedding you truly won't regret it!

Denise at Carl House was absolutely wonderful! Everyone was professional and the food was awesome!

The Carl House was a beautiful location. There is a $10,000.00 minimum which they don't tell you about until you visit. The food was pretty good but not worth the cost. The staff was very helpful on the wedding day and a wedding coordinator is part of the cost (scheduling the day and keeping everyone on track). I would reccomend the Carl House only if you have enough money or a large number of guest to justify the cost.
