From the moment we signed our contract and started planning our reception at the Foundry, Casey and Tom were so responsive and helpful! They have a very thorough planning meeting with you, and go over all of the details you wouldn't even consider and provide great suggestions from experience. Every question and request was handled promptly and accurately. The groomsmen dropped off the box of supplies for the reception and the Foundry's staff transformed the ballroom into something more dramatic and detailed than I had envisioned. The food is always delicious, not at all like a catering hall. And the event staff that night was very professional. They also communicated well with my day-of coordinator. I only took off one star for value. The food and especially the alcohol are a little over-priced for the area and no outside food/beverage is allowed. They were always upfront about the costs, but I felt they were taking advantage of the monopoly they have over their great location. However, they made up for it some by comping our wedding night in one of the king suites, leaving wine and cheese the night before, and champagne and strawberries in our room on wedding night. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I felt like a guest at my own wedding and not many brides can say that. I would absolutely choose this location again.

We were married at the Foundry Park Inn last Sunday, and we can't say enough good things about the experience. We hosted our ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, and most of our out-of-town guests here. Having everything in a single location really helped create the intimate feel we wanted and gave our family and friends plenty of opportunities to get to know each other. The basic rooms were attractive and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Our suite was spectacular -- attractive and spacious. The ceremony/reception and rehearsal dinner venues were beautiful inside and out.The food was fabulous. Having breakfast at the Hoyt House every morning was a real treat and enough to get several Yankees hooked on cheese grits. At the rehearsal dinner, the salad was fresh, the pasta bar was hot and tasty (especially the gorgonzola alfredo), and the grilled chicken was juicy and flavorful. The dessert buffet was even better. I highly recommend the Viennese dessert trio with the scrumptious strawberry petit fours. For the wedding, we opted for a heavy hors d'ouevres reception, and again, we got lots of compliments on the food. The petit filet mignonettes and coconut chicken tenders were the overall winners, but personally, I was blown away by the spanikopita, which were hot, crisp, and not at all greasy. However, it was the staff that truly made the experience such a pleasurable one. From the front desk to the waiters and waitresses to the cleaning service -- everyone was friendly and helpful and worked hard to make us feel at home. Casey Clark, the wedding sales manager/coordinator is the Foundry's true gem, though. Warm, responsive, and extremely detail-oriented, I truly felt Casey was as invested in my wedding as I was. Not only did she ensure everything was perfect down to the tiniest detail on the Foundry's end, she was full of great advice about other vendors. We wound up using the florist and photographer she recommended, both of whom also greatly exceeded our expectations. Everything (important) was flawless -- due in a large part to Casey's hard work.I also need to mention how economical the Foundry Park Inn is. I did a ton of research before we booked them, and I can say with total certainty that there is no better value in northeast Georgia. You don't get what you pay for there -- you get a lot more. And you definitely won't be sorry if you choose to book the Foundry Park Inn for your reception, ceremony, rehearsal, or any other special event.

Casey, the wedding sales manager at the Foundry Park was absolutely wonderful. She was really quick to get back to me and accomodated everything we requested. My only complaints would be the service of the staff the day of the wedding. We had to ask them to vacuum the room where we got married because there were leaves all over the floor, and I had to ask 3 times for them to get table stanchions and the tealights they said they would provide. Also, the room the night of our rehearsal was locked and our guests had to wait in the cold while we got the manager on duty to unlock it for us. The planning process was great but the staff that weekend left a little to be desired. I would still have my wedding there in a heartbeat though.

We just got married at the Foundry on Halloween, and it was fabulous! Casey Gray, our Foundry wedding contact, was super detail-oriented and really took care of us. The venue is beautiful for pictures (inside & out), the spa is great, and our guests are still raving about how great it was - and how wonderful it was to have everything all in one place: the ceremony upstairs, the reception downstairs, a bar (Melting Point) right behind, and a great restaurant (Hoyt House) onsite where we hosted our brunch. Almost all our guests stayed there at the hotel, and it was so self-contained that it made it easy for all the travelers we had there in Athens. And our photographers loved it, too. Lovely venue, lovely staff - I highly recommend the Foundry for weddings!

My husband and I had our wedding at the Foundry and everything went great as far as planning!!! Casey did an awsome job meeting all my needs and also dealing with me chaning my mind up to the last minute. The only real problem I had was casey was not going to be there the day of my wedding but someone was supposed to be filling in, well we though that person didn't show up. BUT we did find out there was another wedding the same day and close in time, so instead of taking care of both of our needs my needs were just completely forgoten while the other bride had the foundry's full attention. My mother was running around like a chicken with her head cut off the whole day trying to get everything in order when someone else should have been taking care of that. I will say the food was AMAZING! We had our rehersal dinner and reception there and everyone raved about the food. Also the cake they made for me was beautiful and delicious (i recomend the chocolate with butter cream icing). Overall the day turned out great and it was all little details that only i knew about that went wrong, while our guests thought things went great.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Foundry Park Inn. Everything was wonderful! Casey Gray was wonderful to work with and was always quickly responsive to any questions or concerns I had while we were planning up to the day of the wedding. The hotel is in a great location for myself and all of our guests to be able to enjoy all that Athens has to offer while in town. We enjoyed it very much! The only down side would be that sometimes depending on what events are happening, it can get very loud. That wasn't an issue for us, but for planning purposes, I would recommend finding out what other events are happening if you book something here.

The Foundry did a great job of setting up the ceremony and reception areas exactly as I wanted them. The staff was helpful. I really enjoyed working with the planner that helped get the wedding organized and she did an amazing job helping me find the chairs I wanted to rent from another vendor as well as the linens. The only problem we had was that they asked us to pick our wine and beer selection, which we did and on the day of the wedding they provided different beer and wine. When asked they said they were unable to get what I had asked for and what they had promised, however did go to a store and get the specific beer my husband wanted since I was adamant about it. So although I was disappointed that I wasn't informed in advance, which would have resolved the issue all together, they did do a great job of trying to make up for the mistake. I would definitely recommend them because the wedding turned out so BEAUTIFUL and that was the only real hitch.

The wedding coordinator did a great job at getting everything I wanted. The place itself is beautiful. The food was ok. The only real bummer was that even though the coordinator and I had discussed allowing my party to stay for an extra hour even after the open bar closed, the day of the wedding the people at the venue told me the dj had to stop playing at the time when the open bar closed. They basically forced my guests to leave even though everyone was having a good time and I had discussed it with the coordinator. I suggest you get everything in writing in advance, that way the day of no one can change anything on you.

The Foundry Park Inn was a really fun place to have a reception. The ballroom was more ecclectic than most--it had the traditional dance floor, tables, and chairs, but the walls are brick and the celling is vaulted with wooden beams. When you dress it up with white linnens and twinkle lights, it looks AWESOME! You can also open up the doors, and there's a great outside area.Plus, you can't beat a place in downtown Athens. They provided the food (which was AWESOME), and they helped with all the reception planning. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a traditional wedding with a little flavor.
