The Highballs

I CANNOT rave enough about The Highballs!!! Pre-wedding - As a former event planner, I was a pretty hands-on bride. Working out the details with the band could easily have been a very stressful ordeal since the band sets the tone for and steers the reception. With The Highballs, though, it ended up being completely enjoyable and one of my favorite parts of the planning! They were were so responsive and easy to get in touch with. Their Website is fantastic and full of key information. Meredith (their female lead vocalist and event coordinator) sent the reception planning form with plenty of time to spare. She had such a good vision of how the reception would progress, what music would fit where and what timing of all the reception elements (cake cutting, parent dances, etc.) would work the best (and was spot-on with all of that). She followed up at just the right times to reconfirm everything. Basically, Meredith was thorough and thoughtful about every aspect of the planning, and it was a huge weight off my shoulders because I knew that the reception would be in good hands. Reception - The Highballs' performance at our reception was perfect!!! Guests young and old keep telling me, my husband, and our parents how much they loved the band. They played "standards" during dinner, which sounded fantastic and gave people time to eat before they started dancing. After dinner, though, they launched into 80s and oldies (tailored to play our favorites), and EVERYONE rushed to the dance floor! They will learn one special request song for your reception (we did "Still the One" by Orleans for an anniversary dance), and it sounded like they had been playing it forever. They also give you the opportunity to list recorded songs to be played during band breaks, and I think I heard all of those. In sum, my wedding turned out perfectly, and I had some wonderful vendors, but I have to say that hiring The Highballs was the second-best wedding decision I made ... first-best being, of course, saying yes to the groom! :)

We were beyond impressed with The Highballs and their ability to transform our reception into one big party! The music was phenomenal and we were so grateful for the time they took to make our reception just perfect. They were so easy and delightful to work with and we are wishing we could throw another party so we could hire them again. They were truly the highlight of the reception and we still have friends raving about the music!

Are there words that could truly express just how much we think of The Highballs!? It was four years ago that I first saw them and at some point in the evening I text Drew and said, "if we ever get married can we PLEASE have this band at our wedding?" Booking them was the very first thing we did in the planning process and on September 24th, 2011 that text came to fruition and we could not have been happier! From word "go" Meredith was such a pleasure to work with and during our consultations whether via phone, email, or face to face, she was incredibly attentive, professional and yet I felt like she was a friend. There was never a doubt in my mind that everything we discussed would be delivered and boy did they ever! If we've heard once we've heard it a thousand times since that they were by far the most amazing band our guests had ever seen or heard. So much so that people were dancing during their warm up prior to the ceremony! The dance floor never cleared the entire night and in the days following my knees were killing me due to the fact that I literally bounced from place to place around the tent. Every song was as good as the one before. Hands down THE BEST addition to our day. Already scheming the next big event where we can hire them again!

The Highballs played for our wedding in September 2011. The band was amazing and we continue to get compliments and rave reviews about their performance from our guests. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Meredith was reliable, responsive, honest, very professional and really wanted the best for us on our wedding day. The Highballs went above and beyond to make our wedding celebration a great success, and it really showed. The band combined several different styles and song selections to create a wonderful night of fun and dancing for all ages of our guests. Everyone danced all night long and had a great time! They Highballs were amazing to work with! They played all the songs we wanted and really personalized the reception for us. They had so much energy and kept the party going all night long. We love them!!!

I really can't say enough good things about The Highballs! They are the perfect mix of fun and professional, which is exactly what you need for a big event like a wedding. They put on a constant high-energy show for our guests that kept the dance floor PACKED all night. You would have thought we were at a concert at times! At the same time, they always showed the highest standards of professionalism and were EXTREMELY well rehearsed (I say this as a fellow musician who would be able to tell if that were not the case). They are all top notch musicians with a very tight collective sound that is highlighted my Meredith's vocals. You would have thought Etta James was in the room singing At Last for our first dance! Meredith was very helpful in the months leading up to the wedding. She took all of our feedback on which songs/genres we wanted to hear and put together a perfect setlist for the event. They are all very good about knowing when to speed it up and slow it down based on crowd reactions. I also want to say a big thank you for the flexibility they showed in letting my brother and I join them on stage to sing a song! Not every band would have been ok with this and we were very grateful. I highly recommend this group for your event, and I can promise you will not be dissapointed!

Seriously you can not go wrong hiring The Highballs. The best wedding band I've ever seen. I don't think I've ever seen that many people dance at a wedding. Many of our guests "didn't bring their dancing shoes", but once they heard the band they were out on the dance floor. They made our wedding reception the most amazing night of our lives!

The Highballs are a wonderful band and are sure to help your wedding be a success. If you like to dance and have a great time, this is your band! We had numerous guests tell us how much they enjoyed listening to them, and a few said The Highballs were so much fun they were going to try to see one of their local shows in Athens. Overall, the band was very talented and was able to remain enthusiastic throughout the night and helped to give us and our guests a memorable wedding we will always remember.

Working with The Highballs was a great experience! Meredith and the rest of the band were extremely professional, and planning the music with them was a very smooth process. At the reception, they kept us on schedule and the party moving! The music was absolutely fantastic!!! The Highballs were AWESOME! We had a small crowd at our wedding, but they kept everyone dancing and happy the entire night. I loved their version of "Someone Like You" for our first dance, which they were happy to learn for our wedding. I want to have another party just so I can have the Highballs perform again!

The Highballs were such a great band to play at our reception. They were fun and upbeat, and so easy to work with. We enjoyed meeting with Meredith (the lead singer) before our event and she went over everything with us. The song selection was varied and that appealed to us since we had a wide age range at our wedding. I would definitely recommend the Highballs!

This band made my reception! My husband and I had been to another wedding where they had played and knew we had to have them...we had so much fun at that wedding because of them and we wanted our reception to be a blast! The dance floor was overflowing with people almost no one was in their seat! Relatives and friends who never dance were up shaking their booties! The band has a wide range of songs sure to satisfy almost any taste and they work with you to plan your music accordingly. It is a much more expensive choice than a DJ, but not high for a live band, and well worth the money! I wish I could go back in time to do it all again dancing the night away with my new hubby and all of our friends and family!
